About me!

Hi, I am Alysha, mommy of two wife and sahm. I have a 7 year old son and a 13 month old daughter. This time around I am doing everything differently. I cloth diaper, I breastfeed and I babywear. I am obsessed with everything diaper and carrier related. I am 30 years old and this coming October will be married to my husband for 8 years. I mostly want to review stuff I have tried and speak of my experiences so feel free to read my thoughts.

BLW vs Purees

Which method did you use? I did purees with my oldest, I had no idea there were other options.  With my daughter I informed myself and she basically never had purees except for a few slips I had when she wouldn't eat.  Obviously I was scared of choking but there's a difference between gagging and choking you just need to know how to handle it. Babies are more than capable of eating for themselves.  My daughter goes through no eating fits regularly but for the most part loves her food. I love this method and encourage you to look into it when baby is ready.

My journey to natural deodorant!

This is my personal experience. Nobody tells you about the drawbacks to switching to natural deodorant! While it is awesome knowing less chemicals are touching and being absorbed by your body detoxing is way awful.  I have been using the same deodorant for about 20-21 years and it stopped working correctly ( avon's cool confidence baby powder scent)  I take a bath usually at night before going down for the night and don't put on deodorant until the next day. I smelled fine with no deodorant.  I have a quick bath in the morning and put my deodorant on and after an hour or so I stank , no sweating or anything.  I decided to try natural deodorant since I use cloth diapers, cloth pads and handmade soap.  I started my search and decided to try queen Helen aloe Vera, apparently I was detoxing now and it was awful, just like wearing nothing on. I decided to keep on and since I found another natural deodorant that I liked the fragrance more I switched! No more stink!...

Cloth diapers with no electricity

So like my last post this one is related to hurricanes again, what else is new?  We had 2 back to back hurricanes and for the first one we were 7 days without electricity and this one going on 11 days and still counting.  Do you need to buy disposables in this situation? No of course you don't. Hand washing is easy and you don't need much water to do so. Right now everything is scarce even disposable diapers and it's a relief I've got my cloth.  I had no water or electricity but since I have my water supply back I am handwashing. I wash every three diapers. As soon as I have three dirty ones I rinse them run water through and fill my sink with soap and water and swish them in it. I rinse and hang to dry. We have been 11 days without electricity and we continue to cloth diaper.  I love my cloth and would have to be in a extremely dire situation to not cloth diaper.
