International babywearing week ❤️

Image
My daughter is 2 years old. She was recently diagnosed with Autism. I have been babywearing since  she was a couple weeks old, babywearing is the only thing guaranteed to make her happy instantly.  Dealing with our new situation, her dislike for new people and new places, babywearing comes into play. If she's around lots of people that she doesn't want near I can just wear her and she feels protected and will interact way better with them.  She can slowly get acclimated to new people by me wearing her until she's ready to be closer to them.  If she's cranky and won't sleep I put her up and instantly she gets the rest she's needing.  If I'm going out she immediately gets her ssc for me to carry her. She will immediately calm down if I wear her.  I am more than thankful for having the right information about babywearing, knowing that her being a Toddler doesn't mean we have to stop since we are both not ready to do so. I love wearing my daughter so hapoy i

Potty training

Potty training is hard work! Or at least it is for most.  With my oldest I had no trouble at all, he basically trained himself. He was fully potty trained at 18 months, no nighttime diapers either. My youngest has not been the same at all. She's 2 years old and shows no interest whatsoever. She's afraid of the big potty and screams bloody murder if I dare try to sit her on it. Same for the potty chair she has. She seems ready physically, we go out and she's fully dry until we come home, she sleeps all night without peeing even though she wakes multiple times to nurse still. So what so you do if your toddler doesn't want to train.  Well nothing, you do nothing! She will eventually go to the potty, she will be ready at her own time. Just putting it out there. There's no timeline to potty training, if you don't do it by a certain time it doesn't mean they'll be in diapers forever.  Enjoy ( as much as you can enjoy diapers) while they feel safe depending on

My journey to natural deodorant!

This is my personal experience. Nobody tells you about the drawbacks to switching to natural deodorant! While it is awesome knowing less chemicals are touching and being absorbed by your body detoxing is way awful.  I have been using the same deodorant for about 20-21 years and it stopped working correctly ( avon's cool confidence baby powder scent)  I take a bath usually at night before going down for the night and don't put on deodorant until the next day. I smelled fine with no deodorant.  I have a quick bath in the morning and put my deodorant on and after an hour or so I stank , no sweating or anything.  I decided to try natural deodorant since I use cloth diapers, cloth pads and handmade soap.  I started my search and decided to try queen Helen aloe Vera, apparently I was detoxing now and it was awful, just like wearing nothing on. I decided to keep on and since I found another natural deodorant that I liked the fragrance more I switched! No more stink!  I am not sure if

BLW vs Purees

Image
Which method did you use? I did purees with my oldest, I had no idea there were other options.  With my daughter I informed myself and she basically never had purees except for a few slips I had when she wouldn't eat.  Obviously I was scared of choking but there's a difference between gagging and choking you just need to know how to handle it. Babies are more than capable of eating for themselves.  My daughter goes through no eating fits regularly but for the most part loves her food. I love this method and encourage you to look into it when baby is ready.

Cloth diapers and cloth pads

Ever since I started cloth diapering a year and a half ago I've wondered why there aren't any commercials for Cloth diapers or Cloth pads on TV. I live in Puerto Rico and for the most part people don't even know that cloth pads, the menstrual cup or cloth diapers are a thing. I would love to see this change! So I imagine a cloth diaper or cloth pad commercial will be nothing like the disposables version of them.  What would you think it would look like?  I think an array of cloth diapers and Pads can be displayed, different types and different sizes and show the durability of them. How diapers can go through several children how you can save money by using them and well of course you're keeping the earth free of waste.  Cloth pads can be used up for years before you need new ones and they can improve your periods soooo much!!

Beauty and being a mom

Image
So as you already know I am a mommy of two and a portable milk can for my youngest so I have very little time to myself. The other day I went to Victoria's Secret with my mom and saw that Pink has a new beauty line, they have masks, soap, sheet masks, bath bombs and lots of pampering stuff. I got myself a couple of sheet masks and 2 clay masks to try out.  Today I tried the citrus clay mask and it was divine!  No one looks sexy with a mask on but here I am. I wore it for 10 minutes and when I took it off my face felt fantastic. I have extremely oily skin and I felt refreshed.  Close up of my face after it was off. I loved it! I can go to bed with a renewed face!

Cloth diapers with no electricity

So like my last post this one is related to hurricanes again, what else is new?  We had 2 back to back hurricanes and for the first one we were 7 days without electricity and this one going on 11 days and still counting.  Do you need to buy disposables in this situation? No of course you don't. Hand washing is easy and you don't need much water to do so. Right now everything is scarce even disposable diapers and it's a relief I've got my cloth.  I had no water or electricity but since I have my water supply back I am handwashing. I wash every three diapers. As soon as I have three dirty ones I rinse them run water through and fill my sink with soap and water and swish them in it. I rinse and hang to dry. We have been 11 days without electricity and we continue to cloth diaper.  I love my cloth and would have to be in a extremely dire situation to not cloth diaper. We have been cloth diapering for a year and haven't used disposable diapers since we started.  I hope t
