Coping with a hurricane

I am from Puerto Rico and so far this hurricane season has been brutal. In 2 weeks we have been hit with 2 category 5 hurricanes.

So how do you keep your kids entertained for a week with no power?

As soon as I knew a hurricane was coming I printed off lots of activities, bingo cards and playing cards. This helped a lot since my 7 year old had lots to do to distract himself from the sound of the winds and being scared.

My one year old in the other hand was content with having her boob available. Babywearing is my savior so on these instances have a baby carrier ready. If I had to evacuate this was in one of my bags.

For the adults I have powerbanks to charge our phones and lanterns and also battery powered fans.

Also lots and lots of snacks... Hurricanes make adults hungry for some reason I believe it's the anxiety.

Most important of all is to be in a safe place and to not go out until it is over.

Hope this helps someone in a similar situation.
